Nancy O’Brien has been around advertising sales for 30 years, starting her career selling advertising for Petroleum Engineer and Pipeline & Gas Journal magazines in 1980. She went on to magazines such as Oil & Gas Journal, Electric Light & Power and in 1986 worked on the new start-up magazine, Aerospace Products, which launched her career in aviation advertising sales. By 1991 she was the Sales Manager for Aviation Maintenance and soon after became Publisher of that title which she held until early 2005. Nancy is now a multi-million dollar ad sales rep for the award winning Aviation International News as an independent representative in addition to her advertising sales training/consulting business.
In 2005, Nancy joined forces with the legendary Carl Landau, doing advertising sales training through Camp Niche and Camp Niche Jamboree, training nearly 1,000 advertising sales reps to date. She also serves as Conference Director of the Niche Magazine Conference designed specifically for publishers of small to mid-sized publications.
In her own consulting business, Nancy currently works with clients on advertising sales training, ad sales management training/consulting, setting up effective ad sales programs as well as trade show and conference sales training and website sales. If it involves advertising sales, Nancy brings her decades of experience and knowledge and helps publishers increase ad sales immediately.
Nancy holds a B.S. degree in Communications from Bradley University as well as an M.A., also from Bradley, in Counseling.
